India and U.K. Signed Free Trade Agreement

India's free trade pact with the U.K will ensure the complete elimination of tariffs on approximately 99% of tariff lines, covering nearly 100% of the trade value.

On Thursday (July 24, 2025), India and U.K. signed a free trade agreement as part of Prime Minister Narendra's Modi U.K. visit.

The British government said on Thursday (July 24, 2025) that India-U.K. FTA will significantly improve market access and bilateral trade by around $34 billion annually.

The aim of the agreement is to enhance bilateral trade to $120 billion by 2030, effectively doubling the current trade volume between both nations.

The agreement was formalised with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in attendance, with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and British counterpart Jonathan Reynolds signing the document.
